Lyme Treatment With Antibiotics
It was on a short-cut through the hospital kitchens that Albert was first approached by a member of the Antibiotic Resistance.
Today, physicians and health care practitioners are left with little choice but to load up the shotgun with up to 5 different antibiotics and start blasting with both barrels in hopes of hitting the spirochete, Bb Borrelia burgdorferi, the bacterium responsible for Lyme disease.
In June of 2010, Ginger Savely, DNP, spoke to a group hosted by the Arizona Lyme Disease Association in Pheonix, AZ. She spent most of the talk discussing the dilemma the medical community is being challenged with in diagnosising this elusive pathogen.
You can read about this in our article titled, Lyme The Diagnostic Nightmare.
For the large community of individuals suffering, most of the information she revealed simply confirmed what is being lived out in the daily life of a Lyme patient.
During her talk, Ginger confirmed:
1. Lyme can live dormant for years and years...maybe even an entire lifetime before it gets a signal (usually stress related) and pops out of cyst like shells and launches the attack.
2. Lab testing is almost always in-effective in detecting Lyme and should not be the single point of diagnosis.
3. Very few 'Infectious Disease' specialists understand Lyme and it's associated co-infections.
4. The list of potential vector points has expanded to include other insects like mosquitoes and human body fluids (breast milk, sexual fluids).
5. Lyme disease is being consistently under-reported therefore the CDC numbers for confirmed cases is grossly inaccurate.
6. The political environment surrounding this disease is undermining any health care practitioners ability to successfully treat and network with others for viable solutions.
Antibiotics as a Course of Treatment
As in most conventional medical practices, antibiotics are on the "A" list for a treatment protocol, but this is largely the case in the alternative community as well.
Ginger is one of those practitioners that believes that this is the only way to successfully treat Lyme and she now utilizes 5 antibiotics at a time in an IV drip...she states that as long as her patients can handle this kind of toxic load, she will deliver it. Otherwise, she breaks it up into stages. She will even administer a dose of antibiotics before she does any testing if she suspects Borrelia burgdorferi to be the pathogen causing the problems.
It has been her experience ever sine the discovery of the Lyme cysts dormant phase, that it may take a dose of an antibiotics to break open the cyst and release the spirochete for any test to be able to read for this. However, she also said that even then both the Western Blot and the ELISA tests can miss the elusive Lyme bacteria.
Once she has gone through the rigor of determining a patient has Lyme, she then systematically loads that double barrel shotgun with antibiotics and starts shooting at will. She has many reports of success with this treatment but it is so counter productive to the lifetime value of the immune system that it falls more under the idea that if the disease doesn't kill, the treatment will.
For the larger group of individuals that report having been on and off antibiotics over the years, this type of strategy demonstrates more of a management system than it does a cure.
The big question today that measures success is, are you symptom free and for how long?
When it comes to chronic complex diseases, the Lyme spirochete may very well be the Grand Prize winner of our day.
It has already earned the reputation of being the most difficult disease to diagnosis and therefore treat, or to paraphrase what Ginger said during her talk... To know Lyme is to know disease for the 21st Century.

Ramona on the Healing Grapevine Team can report Cat's Claw is a highly effective herb for the management stage of symptoms (rather than antibiotics) and later she successfully employed a comprehensive detox and recover program.
She has been 100% symptom free for more than 18 months. During Ramona's research work with Dr. Staninger, a resonant analysis test confirmed the Lyme spirochete is no longer present in her system.
